EYEGLASS LENSES
We may recommend special lens prescription materials and designs to enhance the appearance and comfort of your glasses. Dr. Rieder will go over all lens materials and work with you to custom make your eyewear to be as light and durable as possible.
CONTACT LENSES
As a prospective contact lens wearer, you will be carefully evaluated to determine if you are a good candidate before a contact lens fitting is scheduled. We provide complete professional care from the initial examination to instruction and follow-up visits after you receive your lenses. Contact lenses are available in prescriptions for myopic near sightedness, hyperopic farsightedness, astigmatism and bifocal corrections. Colored contact lenses and costume contact lenses are also available.
MEDICAL VISITS
Dr Rieder and Dr. Gannam are TPA certified and able to see patients and give prescriptions for medical appointments.
We use several insturments and procedures to evaluate the health of your eyes. The doctor will look inside your eyes with an opthalmoscope to check for cataracts, retinal problems and evidence of systemic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. A tonometer is used to test eye pressure for glaucoma. Other special tests include slit lamp biomicroscopy and visual field sensitivity. The corneal topography is used to help accurately evaluate lasik candidates and for fitting contact lenses. Dr.Rieder has a digital retinal camera with which he takes high-resolution photos of the interior portion of your eye, called the retina. The color photo shows detailed images of the retina, including the optic nerve, blood vessels, nerve fibre layer, and the macula. It can show abnormalities that may threaten normal vision.
